Definitely the best and the most beautiful time for red deer hunting is the rut period, which in Poland usually falls on the second half of September. Hunting during the rut means mainly approaching roaring stag to the distance that enables an accurate shot. The hunting is organized early in the morning at dawn and in the evening till the sunset. The weight of red deer stags trophies ranges between 5 and 7 kg, however in the best hunting areas one can gain a medal trophy weighing over 9 kg.
